IMPRECATORY PRAYER:

CURRENT ISSUE: There is a tremendous urgency to prepare every Christian for hardships and trials that lie ahead. We must warn the unprepared and unredeemed that the great “Day of the Lord” is approaching.  Will you be ready?

Matthew 24:4-14 (NAS) gives us the signs of the end time.  God does not want us to be ignorant and unaware of the days in which we live. Hear the words of Jesus, as he spoke of the last days. All of these signs are happening now! Suffering beyond measure, is fast approaching. Current events suggest the trump of God is about to sound!

"See to it that no one misleads you. 5 "For many will come in My name, saying, 'I am the Christ,' and will mislead many. 6 "And you will be hearing of wars and rumors of wars; see that you are not frightened, for those things must take place, but that is not yet the end. 7 "For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and in various places there will be famines and earthquakes. 8 "But all these things are merely the beginning of birth pangs. 9 "Then they will deliver you to tribulation, and will kill you, and you will be hated by all nations on account of My name. 10 "And at that time many will fall away and will deliver up one another and hate one another. 11 "And many false prophets will arise, and will mislead many. 12 "And because lawlessness is increased, most people's love will grow cold. 13 "But the one who endures to the end, he shall be saved. 14 "And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in the whole world for a witness to all the nations, and then the end shall come.

All of the signs in the above Scripture are taking place with greater frequency and intensity than ever recorded.  Even the ungodly, secular minded, hardhearted creatures of instinct acknowledge that we are on the brink of disaster, but seem to believe that they can escape final judgment.

Most of God's people have been totally ignorant and oblivious to the urgency of the times.  They have not seen the encroaching enemy brazenly shaking their fists in the face of God, nor have they heard their declarations of determined destruction upon every believer.  Nevertheless, God is sending his Holy Spirit throughout the land to warn of the destruction to come.

It is time for us to discard our stinking garments and put on the robes of righteousness. Jesus said in Matt 25:11-13 (NAS): “And later the other virgins also came, saying, 'Lord, lord, open up for us.' 12 "But he answered and said, 'Truly I say to you, I do not know you.' 13 "Be on the alert then, for you do not know the day nor the hour.

Prayer:  Almighty God,   We pray for our brethren who are blinded by the enemy and cannot see significance of our days.  They rush into the jaws of destruction with uncontrollable lust, blinded by the flickering mirage of sensuous desire.  Their hardened hearts have been turned from the pathway of righteousness, their reverence for a holy God long forgotten.

Send Your Holy Spirit anointed prophets among your people to warn of Your wrath that will fall upon the wicked and the backslidden. Cause them to fear and tremble at the hearing of Your Word and the demonstration of Your holy power.  Do not consume them. Have mercy upon them. Cause them to see the coming destruction of the wicked and the purging fire of the great day of the Lord. Compel them to repent and turn from their sin.  Save them as a burning brand from the fire. Remove their scorched garments. Forgive their sins and restore them to righteousness. Separate them from the wicked.  Bathe them in the cleansing blood of your only begotten Son.

Curse those who are in rebellion and beyond repentance. Destroy them and their evil works in your roaring fire of judgment!  We pray in the name of Jesus Christ, our conquering King and avenger. Amen.

PREPARATORY PRAYER:

Dear Heavenly Father, I am aware of your eminent return as declared within your Scriptures.  The compelling urgency to warn my brethren weighs heavily upon me.

I know that your Word declares that one should remove the log from one's own eye before trying to remove the speck from another's eye. (Matthew 7:3-5)

Examine me and help me to keep my own life in order that I might be able to help my brethren prepare for the trials that await us.  Cleanse me from every blemish. Help me to see clearly, rightly discerning your perfect will for my personal life.  I now sanctify myself for your use. I am willing to commit to the words of Isaiah as he said “Here am I, send me."

Fill me with a compassion for your people who have not repented. Accept my prayers and supplication on their behalf. Intervene in their life that they will listen to the conviction of your Holy Spirit. Grant me the ability to be an influential witness to those whom I meet.

Anoint me with your Holy Spirit, empower me in your wisdom, and use me to warn others of your coming judgment.  I pray in the name of Jesus Christ my Lord and Redeemer.  Amen.
