Preparatory and Imprecatory Prayer

We as God’s people are living a replay of the Gideon story.

Then the sons of Israel did what was evil in the sight of the LORD; and the LORD gave them into the hands of Midian seven years. And the power of Midian prevailed against Israel. Because of Midian the sons of Israel made for themselves the dens which were in the mountains and the caves and the strongholds. For it was when Israel had sown, that the Midianites would come up with the Amalekites and the sons of the east and go against them. So they would camp against them and destroy the produce of the earth as far as Gaza, and leave no sustenance in Israel as well as no sheep, ox, or donkey. For they would come up with their livestock and their tents, they would come in like locusts for number, both they and their camels were innumerable; and they came into the land to devastate it. So Israel was brought very low because of Midian, and the sons of Israel cried to the LORD. (Emphasis added) Judges 6:1-6

This month’s imprecatory prayer is the sons of Israel crying out to the LORD. Pray the prayer out loud with faith, expecting the answer, and it will be done.

Preparatory Prayer

Lord Jesus we know a battle rages between good and evil and that evil wins when good men and women refuse to pray. We know too we war not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness. So grant us angelic backup and receive us as we enter our Rock and fortress wearing the armor our King provides us and encase us with an impenetrable shield of faith so we can safely fire off our prayers without any harmful retaliation from the evil side.

Imprecatory Prayer

Please put on the armor of Ephesians 6 before you pray.

Our Father Who Art in Heaven, remember Israel, Your people and Your inheritance. Your enemy and ours have come into Your land with wickedness and destruction. Our people have not considered their future. O LORD, see our affliction. Your enemy and ours have magnified themselves. They are destroying us and that which you have blessed us with. Let the plagues meant for us come down upon them a hundredfold.

They have made a mockery of Your Law and Your people. We are warning the wicked now to turn from their wickedness. We bring this matter before your throne for judgment. We call for them to repent or perish. Forgive us Father, for we have sinned against Thee. We, Your remnant people, who are called by Your name, humble ourselves and pray. We seek Your face and we turn from our wicked ways and ask that in the name of Jesus, Your only begotten Son, to forgive our sins and heal our land, for You, LORD, are our healer.

It is written that it is not those who are healthy who need a physician, but those who are sick. Our people and our land are in need of the Great Physician, for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men’s lives, but to save them. Therefore, as it is written, whoever calls on the name of the Lord Jesus Christ shall be saved.

Jesus save us from the hand of those who hate us, heal our land and remove the wicked from among us. In Jesus name we pray. Amen
